The Den of the Sky Pirate is located northwest of Castaway Cove, which is the closest port to where you're going. From Castaway Cove, sail west and follow the coast north until you get to the star, which is where you will land. From here, it's pretty much a straight shot to the Skull Cave. Once you get inside and Oliver's fascination with airships cools down, heal and save at the Waystone and get on board the ship...

| This is going to be a pure defensive battle, as you will soon see why. Its main attacks are Firestream, which is a high damage fire laser that hits in a straight line, and Dragonbreath, which makes him rise up into the air and breath fire down on you. Dragonbreath will leave flames on the ground, which causes little damage if you touch them. It also has Dragon Scales, which he'll cast every so often and can resist most magic. Not too far into the fight, Drippy will pop in and mention that dragons hate poison. When you see Dragon Scales wear off, that's your cue to switch to Swaine and use Rotshot. If it hits, the Red Dragon will be stunned and the poison will start taking health away until it starts moving again. Keep using All-Out Defense and using Rotshot over and over until the boss is dead. |
After defeating the dragon, Kublai shows you the map and mentions that the only way there is via Tengri, a dragon. The bad news is that Tengri is sick and nothing they have done could cure him. Before getting off the ship, speak with the one pirate right before the ramp leading off to get some new alchemy recipes.
Go over to talk to Tengri, although you can't understand him until you use Nature's Tongue. You find out that his soul mate in Motorville is brokenhearted, so you go and tell Kublai. He gives you a Jumbo Sundrop, as well as the formula for it. Once you're done talking, cast Gateway to go back to Motorville.
Go over and talk to Myrtle and while you two catch up, Ghengis, your neighbor Denny's dog, will come over. When Myrtle is gone (save), use Nature's Tongue to speak to Ghengis. Once you gain control, head over to Denny's house. Get ready for another boss!

| The boss has ok physical attacks, which are nothing to worry about. Restless Sleep is a status ailment attack that has a chance to put one target to sleep. The boss' big attack is Oil Spill, which hits everyone for big damage, so make sure you go All-Out Defense and defend when you see this coming. It is weak to light, so Arrow of Light should be used to exploit that weakness. Sometimes, for some odd reason, when you guard against the Oil Spill attack, it will still go through and some members of your party will receive full damage; there isn't a known reason for this happening. |
With the Nightmare gone, it's time to mend Denny's broken heart, which is missing some confidence. Cast Gateway to go back to Drippy's world and you'll reappear in Skull Cave. Talk to Kublai to get some confidence, and he'll also give you the Quake and Seek Fortune spells. Go back to Oliver's world and give Denny the confidence. After curing Denny, go to Leila's shop, where Pea will give you a warning about the Keepers. Go back to Drippy's world and speak to Kublai, who mentions that Tengri is now flying. Congratulations on your new dragon!
