Invincible Ghosts
In the New Londo Ruins area you may encounter some ghosts that cant be harmed by normal means There are 3 ways to kill these ghosts
1 Have your character cursed
2 Use the Transient Curse item which can be bought from the undead merchant in Undead Burg You can only buy 4 at a time each one costing 4000 souls plus the effects are only temporary
3 A cursed weapon The Ghostblade and Jagged Edge of the Ghost are two such weapons both dropped by the ghosts
Asylum Demon BOSS
The Asylum Demon is the very first boss you will encounter in the game and serves as the tutorial boss If you choose the Black Firebombs as your gift when starting up it is possible to kill the Asylum Demon using the Black Firebombs the first time you meet it which will net you the Demons Great Hammer Otherwise you might want to wait until you get a proper weapon before fighting him On your first encounter there is a door on the left side you can use to escape and after getting some equipment youll eventually return to the room with the Asylum Demon
The Asylum Demon has pretty basic attacks which should be easy enough to dodge It might be wise to wear no armor in the fight since your main objective in the fight is to stay behind the boss When the Asylum Demon is about to do a horizontal sweeping attack hell twist his shoulder slightly either roll backwards or with the attack When you notice him flying up into the air roll backwards since he will smash the ground As long as you keep these two attacks in mind as well as constantly staying behind him the boss will go down with no trouble
Bed of Chaos BOSS
Bed of Chaos is kind of similar to the Dragon God boss in Demons Souls in that you have to do a few scripted things before youre able to go after the boss Its a very easy boss once you know what to do and its the only boss in the game where if you die your progress is saved When you go through the fog gate and slide down the huge ramp you will notice two orange bubbles on either side of the main boss this is where you will want to go The boss only really does a sweeping motion with its arms so as long as you have a good shield and keep it up while running to them
When you reach the first orange bubble doesnt matter which one you go to either roll through or attack the branches and then attack the glowing yellow spot This will trigger a cutscene where the boss grows a scythelike appendage from its back It will use this to try and stab you so keep moving As you go towards the next orange bubble you will notice that pieces of the floor will crumble be careful not to fall or get pushed into the holes You can be safer if you stick to the nontiled circular portion of the floor
Once you destroy the second glowing root in the second orange bubble all hell will break loose It grows another appendage and now little pillars of fire will spew forth from the floor you can tell where they are since you will see an orange spot on the ground before it comes up You have to make your way to the center where you will find a hole has opened up and there is a large root that acts as a path to the center Jump onto this root and break through the branches to get to the heart of the boss but be careful as the flame pillars can reach you in here one hit to the heart will kill the boss
Bell Gargoyles BOSS
This is probably the first challenging boss of the game simply due to the fact that you will be fighting two of them at one time at some point in the fight If you have the Drake Sword from the red dragon then this fight will be a little easier If you can get a shield with some fire resistance it will also help Heater Shield or Hollow Soldiers Shield are two ideal ones
The fight begins with only one Gargoyle to fight The most dangerous attacks are its overhead swing and its tail swipe both of which can be easy to dodge if you know theyre coming The best plan of action is to stick close to the Gargoyle with a shield up at all times Keep taking shots at it when it swings with its weapon if you cut off the tail you will get the Gargoyle Tail Axe Its best to keep the first Gargoyle at where you entered the battle as you will see shortly
When you get the first Gargoyles health to 50 or lower a second one will spawn at the far end from where you entered of the roof The second Gargoyle has a new attack which is its most dangerous one it breathes fire that fans most of the area in front of him It will use this attack a lot especially if you stay far from it so make sure youre always wary of where the second Gargoyle is located You should concentrate on the first Gargoyle until its dead then you can go after the second one
One good strategy is to get the first Gargoyles health to just before the second one spawns then wail on the first one relentlessly until you finish it off Note that the second Gargoyle does not have a tail when it enters the battle You can summon NPCs to help you you must be alive Solaires sign is in front of the fog gate and Lautrecs sign must open his cell first needs a Mystery Key is behind the first ladder on a ledge proceeding up to the fog gate
Blade of the Darkmoon Covenant
To join the Blade of the Darkmoon Covenant you first need the Darkmoon Seance Ring which you can get from the Catacombs Once you get to Anor Londo get to the second bonfire which is located below the large spinning tower in the middle of the area You need to turn the large wheel in the middle then you can go down the stairs You will come upon a statue which will disappear with the ring above equipped Follow the pathway that opens up but do not go through the fog gate you get kicked out of the Covenant if you go through but instead kneel when prompted to get the opportunity to join the Covenant
Capra Demon BOSS
The Capra Demon is the boss you fight in the Lower Undead Burg This battle can be a little annoying as the Capra Demon is accompanied by two undead dogs and if you get caught in the middle of the three of them then you will die easily The plan of attack is to take out the two dogs first
When the battle begins you will want to run up the stairs get on the ledge and get into the corner From here you should be able to take out the dogs without having to worry about the Capra Demons attacks It is also from here that you will make the battle against the Capra Demon a lot easier than usual You can do a plunging attack from here onto the Capra Demon and after that you should roll away go up the stairs and try to do it again Note that if the Capra Demon is holding both swords and is swinging you dont want to try and block this attack
Ceaseless Discharge BOSS
The Ceaseless Discharge is a rather large fire demon complete with tentaclelike appendages that impedes your progress in Demon Ruins It is wise to wear some physical resistance armor with some fire resistance as well in case the boss gets off its one attack on you youll want to have a magical weapon maybe lightningbased Youll be fighting on a cliff so make sure you dont fall off
The boss doesnt have many attacks so you dont have to worry about too many of them If youre up close to it it will do a horizontal swipe across the ground It can also slam its tentacles on the ground leaving them there for a few seconds this is when you attack If youre farther away it will let out something like a roar and its tentacles will be on fire when it slams it on the ground it will let out the fire around the tentacle
There is a rather easy way to defeat this boss which involves the little passageway that leads away from the cliff When you go through the fog gate dont rush forward too quickly as you might face the wrath of the boss fire attack When you get into the corridor go into the corner and wait until Ceaseless Discharge looks at you then run to the right to avoid its tentacle slam Run back quickly to get a few hits off on the tentacle then wait a few seconds and do it all over again
Centipede Demon BOSS
The first thing youll notice when you go through the fog gate is the lava do not touch this at all as it is very dangerous and will quickly deplete your health Now when the fight starts the first thing you want to do is go to the right until you reach an open area that has a corpse with some loot on it 2 Green Titanite Shards This area makes it much easier to fight without having to worry about being knocked into the lava You can cut off its tail but the tail doesnt die and requires a few extra hits to kill it if you do this you get the Orange Charred Ring which allows you to walk on the lava while taking very miniscule damage you also get it if you defeat the boss without cutting its tail
The first attack youll most likely see when fighting this boss is its long range attack where he shoots out one of its arms at you you can dodge it by rolling to either side His most dangerous attack is when he leaps into the air and tries to land on you or either slams its one arm on the ground its best to roll away from it at this point If you stay under his legs for a while it will stomp the ground with both legs so make sure to move away if you see it doing this attack It seems to get a small explosion when it jumps up into the air once its health gets lower It also seems to be able to grab you and deal big damage but it doesnt seem to use that move too often As long as you stay kind of underneath him and hack away you should be able to defeat him without too much trouble stay away from the lava
Chaos Servant Covenant
This Covenant is located in Quelaags Domain past the Chaos Witch Quelaag boss area Go down some stairs and you should see a lever for a bell go past that and down some more stairs Walk across the room youre in now over some green plate and youll come to a wall hit this wall to reveal a hidden passage Speak to the NPC Eingyi has eggs on its back in this passage and answer Yes to his question Speak to Quelaan to join the Covenant
Chaos Witch Quelaag BOSS
First and foremost Quelaag is immune to fire so dont use Pyromancies or any fireenchanted weapons in this fight Quelaag will use attacks with both her human half and her spider half If you defeated Maneater Mildred earlier and are alive you can summon her right in front of the fog gate leading to this boss This boss has many attacks both physical and firebased so it helps to have something like the Black Knight Shield or Dragon Crest Shield
When youre close to her she will swing her sword in a horizontal line from left to right She also has another sword attack this time its a stab straight ahead but its pretty easy to tell when shes going to use it For the spider portion of her body her most used attacks are when she spews lava from the mouth First is a longer stream of lava and goes back and forth Another attack is when she just drops a gob of lava on the ground right in front of her Yet another attack is when she jumps towards you and drops a gob of lava right in front of her
The best times to attack are when she does the long spewing attack but you need to watch out for her aura attack which usually happens if you get greedy and keep wailing on her You could probably get one hit off on her when she does the lava gob spit Keep to Quelaags left side and most of her sword swipes will miss you so you can get some attacks in on her from those whiffs
Crossbreed Priscilla BOSS
Priscilla can be found at the end of the Painted World of Ariamis which is an optional area of the game You do not have to fight her to exit the Painted World as you can just walk by her to the exit If you want to fight her though just hit her once to make her aggressive Once she becomes aggressive the first thing she will do is turn invisible Cutting off her tail is not easy since shes invisible for the beginning of the fight and its rather small compared to all the other tails you can cut off
As said before as soon as you attack her she will turn invisible The trick to getting hits on her is using the snow on the ground as a means of knowing where she is since her footprints could be seen in the snow That means you should always stay on the side of the area with the snow on the ground when her footprints are getting close move around to the back of them and start attacking Three good hits in succession with a decentdamaging weapon should make her visible again She only really has two attacks first is her swinging her scythe across her body does bleed damage and the second is some kind of frost breath ability that spans in front of her As long as you stay behind her neither of the two attacks should hit you
Curing Curse
The Curse status ailment is one of the more annoying ones in the game since if you do get cursed it halves your maximum HP some have said multiple suffering of curse stacks but some are saying you can only get cursed once and the effect doesnt stack One of the easiest ways to get cursed is by the Basilisks commonly known as frogs in The Depths but there are other enemies who can curse you
To remove Curse from your character you will need a Purging Stone and there are a few ways to obtain one You can trade Snuggly the Crow a cracked red eye orb for 2 stones Also the giant clam enemies in Ash Lake and Crystal Cave drop them The easiest way to get Purging Stones is to buy them either from Oswald the Carim in Undead Burg 3000 souls each after defeating the Gargoyles or from the Undead Female Merchant in Firelink Shrine 6000 souls each
Dark Sun Gwyndolin BOSS
Gwyndolin is the keeper of the Blade of the Darkmoon covenant so if you fight him then you wont have access to this covenant At the second bonfire in Anor Londo there is a statue that will disappear if youre wearing the Darkmoon Seance Ring and at the end of the path is a fog gate and a place to kneel if you want to join the covenant If you go through the fog then you will fight Dark Sun Gwyndolin
Gwyndolin is a pretty easy battle as he only has three attacks all of which are pretty easy to dodge When he stretches upwards he will fire some arrows at you which are easy to avoid if you zigzag or hide behind one of the pillars He will also use homing soul arrows on you but they can be avoided easily by hiding behind one of the pillars The third and final attack of his is a giant ball of energy that he shoots at you its pretty fast so as long as you zigzag and roll when its about to hit you you should be fine this attack goes through the pillars so you cant hide from this one
Whenever you get close to Gwyndolin he will teleport away from you and then continue his attack you should be able to get 1 or 2 hits on him before he manages to actually teleport The best chance for you to get more attacks in is when he is in his animation for shooting regular arrows at you As long as hes in this animation he wont be able to teleport if youre close to him so its definitely the best way to do damage to him
Darkwraith Covenant
This Covenant is located in The Abyss which is underneath New Londo Ruins and its a bit weird in terms of requirements
1 You need to kill the wolf Sif to get a ring to traverse the Abyss
2 If you acquired the Lordvessel item and have rung the two bells to get Frampt appear in Firelink Shrine its best to not talk to him If you do and he brings you to an altar do NOT place the Lordvessel item on the altar if you do then you wont be able to join If you have the Lordvessel item then you talk to the Guardian of the Seal a NPC in red robes in New Londo Ruins to get a key that will drain the water there
2a If you dont have the Lordvessel item then you need to kill the Guardian of the Seal to get the key to drain the water
3 Equip the ring from Sif and go to the Abyss and fight the Four Kings boss After defeating the Four Kings you should see a serpent and a bonfire that appears Talking to it will allow you to join the Covenant
Demon Firesage BOSS
The Demon Firesage is a fight that should be familiar to you since you fought the Asylum Demon and if you fought the Stray Demon except he has a few new moves The problem with this boss is that his melee attacks have a huge range so you need to be careful with that His most dangerous attacks involve his explosion and if youve fought the Stray Demon then you know that they have a good reach in front and a little reach behind him He can raise his weapon up in the air and then slam it into the ground causing an explosion He will also just hit his weapon to the side of his body kind of at shoulder level causing an explosion He can also flying up into the air a little and come down with a butt slam
If youre farther away from him he will most likely either use the one explosion move where he hits to his side or jump back slightly then jump forward with a vertical melee attack The ideal strategy for this fight is to stick close to him and try to force his butt slam attack which leaves him vulnerable to one or two hits from your own weapon Be careful of his other explosion move where he slams his weapon into the ground since he usually triggers it when youre close and you might misjudge the range move far away since you can usually see it coming The arena might cause some problems because of all the roots so you need to worry about that as well
Dragon King Greataxe
To get this weapon you need to cut off the tail of the Gaping Dragon in The Depths Wait for the boss to charge then run in and get a hit or two off on its tail Keep doing this until it falls off Make sure to pick up the weapon off the ground
Dragon Slayer Ornstein Executioner Smough BOSS
This is definitely one of the more challenging battles in the game since its 2on1 unless you summon Solaire to help or other players Both the bosses are aggressive and upon killing one the other one gets a powerup from the other boss if you kill Smough first then Ornstein will become very large and if you kill Ornstein first then Smough gains electricity for his attacks It is highly recommended to have both good physical resistance and electrical resistance for this fight just in case
Smough only has four attacks two of which can be easily avoided by sticking right up against him the first is a left to right hammer swing and the second is a vertical smash with his hammer A third attack is him charging you and then swinging his hammer upwards knocking you in the air sometimes he might chase you farther than normal but as long as you roll backwards just as he begins swinging you should dodge this The final attack of his should be familiar if you remember the Asylum Demon as he butt slams the ground the damage is pretty big for this attack and the range is bigger than Asylum Demons attack but its not hard to avoid as long as you steproll backwards
Ornstein has a variety of attacks and he has a few that can be very quick He has two attacks where he throws a lightning bolt at you one that is a little slower and homes in on you he charges it above his head and the other is quick and straight he charges this one at his waist He also has another attack that looks similar to his quick lightning bolt but he lunges at you instead He has another move where he kneels down then quickly charges at you block this with your shield He also has a variety of melee attacks with his spear like a sweeping attack that he can do again in a combo of three attacks sweep sweep from other side then a vertical hit
Note that there are three pillars on each side of the room which you should use to judge your position at any time so you dont get yourself in a corner You should try to stay locked on to one of the two at all times and keep an eye on the other one at the same time You can use the pillars to your advantage too as you can block one of the enemies attacks with it while you concentrate on the other If you fight Smough second theres a big chance to hit him after he does his vertical hammer smash If you fight Ornstein second you should stick to staying underneath him unless he jumps up and does the butt slam which sends out a little electric shockwave
Easy Taurus Demon Fight
As soon as you walk through the fog gate climb up the ladder nearby and take care of the two archers at the top Go back down and trigger the Taurus Demons appearance then hurry back up the ladder At the top do a plunging attack off the top and hit the demon Quickly lure the demon into the middle of the walkway and wait for him to do a downward swing allows for maximum time then quickly make your way back up the ladder Repeat this strategy until it is dead
Forest Hunter Covenant
Talk to Alvina at Darkwood Garden Shes a big cat and is located on a windowsill before the bridge leading to the second castle ruins Upon joining she will give you a ring Cat Covenant Ring which enables you to summon her to fight off intruders entering the forest
NOTE There is a bit of a glitch concerning this Covenant It is recommended to quit the game and start the game back up after joining the Covenant to prevent NPCs from attacking you Also if at any time you gain souls while in the forest from any of the NPCs dying even if you dont kill them then you will be kicked out of the Covenant It is recommended you do everything in the forest before joining then join and kill 3 invaders to max the Covenant ASAP
Four Kings BOSS
To get to the Abyss where this boss is located you need to kill Sif and equip the Covenant of Artorias you die if you dont have it equipped you need to have it equipped for the whole battle This is a special fight because as time goes on up to four bosses will join the battle thus it is crucial that you quickly kill each one Each King represents one fourth of the total health on the bottom of the screen All four have the same move set so you dont have to worry about different attacks You can summon Witch Beatrice for this fight her sign is by the drop off that would put you at the beginning of the ruins
The Four Kings attacks are pretty basic There is a sword thrust thats pretty easy to dodge as well as horizontal swing There are a couple of other attacks like one where the King will grab the player and do some damage before releasing If you see the King huddling up then try to get away because it will release a shockwave explosion If you are far away from the boss then they will create a homing projectile that follows you for quite a while
As said before speed is the key to this battle as you dont want all 4 Kings on the field at once One of the good strategies for this battle is to bum rush each one and dont worry about blocking This is very possible with armor that has high poise Havels set and with the Iron Flesh spell You should only heal when your health dips below 4050 as you want to be sure you survive any random chance of heavier than normal damage Fire damage does more than any other magic damage so pyromancies and fireenchanted weapons are good
Gaping Dragon BOSS
The Gaping Dragon is an easy boss once you figure out its attack patterns You can cut its tail off to acquire the Dragon King Greataxe and its pretty easy to cut off after it does its charge move You can also summon only if youre alive Solaire next to stairs leading to fog gate and Lautrec in area with Heavy Crossbow if you need extra help
The Gaping Dragon has a few attacks that you should keep an eye out for Be careful in front of it as it has a move where it can grab you for some big damage if you get too close It can also spew some acid which can damage your equipment as well so make sure you get far away from this attack The two attacks youll most likely see the most are its slam and its charge it will stand up and then slam down so make sure you dont stand too close When its standing on all six legs it will crawl charge across the room It is after these two attacks that its most vulnerable so get two to three hits in before backing up and waiting for its next attack
Gargoyle Tail Axe
To get this weapon you will need to cut off the tail of the first Bell Gargoyle you fight Once the first Gargoyles HP reaches 50 a second one joins the fight with its tail already cut off You may get a Gargoyle Shield or Halberd as a drop from the second one
Gifts
Whenever you start a new character you will be given the option to take on of many gifts All of these gifts can be acquired during the game except for the Master Key Thief class starts with the Master Key so he can take another gift This will tell you what the item does and where you can obtain it otherwise
Binoculars Used to look at faraway sights Can be found in the skeleton graveyard in Firelink Shrine
Black Firebomb Explodes upon impact and a stronger version of the Firebomb Can be found in a chest in Undead Burg
Goddesss Blessing This fully restores HP and removes any negative status effects Can be found in a chest in Sens Fortress
Master Key This opens any basic lock and the Thief class starts with it You can also use it to access some secret areas
Old Witchs Ring This ring has no use other than to allow you to speak to Quelaan the Chaos Servant Covenant NPC It is not required to join the Covenant
Pendant Useless item but you can trade it to Snuggly the Crow in Undead Asylum for a Souvenir of Reprisal
Tiny Beings Ring This ring grants a 5 maximum HP boost the ingame description is wrong You can get it from Siegmeyer if you kill the 3 Silver Knights in the room next to him in Anor Londo
Twin Humanities Once you get to Firelink Shrine you can use humanity to become human again and also kindle which increases the amount of Estus Flasks you have This can be found on a dead body in the basement in Undead Burg
Gravelord Nito BOSS
Gravelord Nito is the only covenant master that needs to die in order to finish the story so if you want to join his covenant then do so before coming to this point When you begin the fight make sure to hurry up and use an Estus Flask since you drop into the boss area and will lose health Nito will summon three normal skeletons which will most likely be your first encounter in the boss area a divine weapon will make them stay dead There are three big skeletons in the back of the area so unless you want to fight them stay where you dropped in
Nito has a couple of attacks to watch out for If hes far away from you and you hear a scream then he will summon a single gravelord sword out of the ground directly underneath you if you can see him he will raise his sword in the air to telegraph this If you want to dodge this attack then spam the rolling dodge Nito can swing his sword horizontally but if you stay close to him this will miss you When he raises his sword above his head he will slam it on the ground He can also grab you so make sure to roll out of the way to avoid this His most dangerous move is when he curls up and begins to glow as this means he will release a shockwave that is very large and hard to avoid
If you have any pyromancies or a firebased weapon those would be ideal to use in this fight You dont really want to grab the attention of the three large skeletons in the back so keep the fight to the front Make sure to circle around Nito and try and dodge his attacks while taking shots at him If you see him about to use his shockwave attack back up and raise your shield to reduce the damage a little bit
Gravelord Servant Covenant
NOTE You must join this Covenant before completing the Tomb of the Giants If you complete the Tomb of the Giants after joining this Covenant then you will not be able to increase its rank
You must be undead you must be hollow and you need to have Eyes of Death in your inventory You can find 3 of these behind the Titanite Demon in the Catacombs which is where you need to go anyways the Basilisks in the Depths also have a chance to drop Eyes of Death the froglooking enemies that curse you
Once you have one in your inventory find the Titanite Demon in the Catacombs You should see a partially open coffin just before the Titanite Demon Interact with the coffin and after around 30 seconds you should get a cutscene that brings you to Nitos tomb Interact with the big coffin and you can join the Covenant
Great Grey Wolf Sif BOSS
Sif is a mandatory boss that is required to complete the story as he drops a ring that is needed in order to get into an area later on you die without the ring on normally Sif is a quick boss and he moves around a lot so it may be tough to get hits on him It may be better to use a slashing weapon on him and hes vulnerable to fire and lightning Its definitely helpful to have a shield with good physical defense on it
The biggest and most dangerous attack to watch out for is double sword spin move which is usually telegraphed by when he turns his head towards the right side for about a second or two you dont want to get hit by both hits so either back away from him or roll towards him and hope neither hit connects He also does a sword swipe from left to right and sometimes combos it with another in the other direction and then a sword slam to the ground in front of him He also charges you and does a quick slash and he can also jump back while swinging the sword
When the battle starts most of the time Sif will use his charge move which you can roll under if timed right After this though the battle is pretty random as to what hell do so as long as you have a good shield with physical defense you should be pretty good A good strategy for melee users is to stick close to him and roll under his attacks to get under his belly which allows you to get off one or two good attacks For magic users you will want to also have a good shield but you will want to put some distance between you and Sif getting spells off whenever Sif gives you the chance Note that he starts limping once his health gets real low which pretty much means you have won the battle as his attacks will get a lot slower to the point where they are pretty much easy to dodge with no trouble at all
Gwyn Lord of Cinder BOSS
This is the last boss of the game and he can be quite the challenge Gwyn is relentless in his attacks and can be quite quick with them too He can and will most likely eat through your stamina rather quickly Its always a good idea to heal even if you know youre going to get hit with an attack since Gwyn will not really give you a moments rest you can use the rocks as protection so you can heal as well Its a good idea to bring some fire resistance with you as well as have some good physical resistance
As said before Gwyn can be relentless in his attacks although he doesnt have too many If youre far away from him he will jump towards you and do a large slash When up close he will do some sword slashes up to 34 hits Also he will try and grab you which results in big damage if it connects roll backwards to avoid this At midrange he will lunge forward and try to stab you with his sword roll to the sides to try and dodge this attack
There are two very good strategies for this fight The first involves parrying and riposting his attacks All of his attacks can be parried except for his grab so make sure to dodge that one If you have a pretty strong weapon Gwyn can go down with like 78 ripostes The other good strategy involves the Iron Flesh spell Equip yourself with heavy armor with good firephysical defense cast Iron Flesh 2hand your weapon and just wail on Gwyn still might want to dodge his grab If Iron Flesh is going to run out provoke him into using his grab dodge it and then recast Iron Flesh dont forget to heal
Humanity
Humanity is used for a few thing in Dark Souls including returning to human form and increasing the number of Estus Flasks you can have on you Normally its hard to come by Humanity but there are a few spots where you can farm it
1 The rats in The Depths seem to drop Humanity more often than any other enemy
2 The skeleton babies in the room before Gravelord Nito in Tomb of the Giants They will continually respawn and drop souls as well so this is a great spot
3 In the Dukes Archives there are octopusheaded enemies in one room that seem to drop Humanity frequently too
Iron Golem BOSS
The Iron Golem boss is considered to be a pretty easy boss but thats not to say he cant be dangerous He has high defense but hes weak against lightning so its definitely a good idea to either get the Lightning Spear in Sens Fortress Mimic chest or get a weapon enchanted with lightning You can summon Black Iron Tarkus in the one empty room before the boss just remember to be in human form if you want his help
The Iron Golem has one ranged attack which is sending out a blast of energy that can knock you back its easily dodged by sidestepping He will swing his weapon horizontally kind of along the ground sometimes going back the other way for a 2 hit combo this can easily be dodged by rollingrunning in between his legs He can stomp the ground with his right foot 23 times so just go around to his other side to avoid this you can hit his other leg easily His most dangerous attack by far is when he winds up with his right arm the one with no weapon and then grabs in between his legs if he grabs you with this then you will take some massive damage one part damage when he grabs you then another part when he throws you to the ground You can avoid this by going to the sides of his body if you roll in between his legs there is a chance that he might grab you still since his grab reaches a little behind him when he tries
Kirk Knight of Thorns Invader
NOTE To be invaded by this NPC you need to be in human form plus the area boss still needs to be alive
This NPC will invade you on three separate occasions and you will need to kill him all three times to get his armor He may drop his sword and shield when you kill him any of the three times Once you defeat him all three times go to the Daughter of Chaos in Queelags Domain and youll find his body in the back
1 The Depths He should be where the Basilisks frogs that curse you are
2 Demon Ruins After killing the Ceaseless Discharge go to the next area As youre going down some stairs on the side of a cliff wary of the Capra Demons he should invade
3 Lost Izalith Just outside the doorway that leads to Bed of Chaos boss
Maneater Mildred Invader
NOTE To be invaded by this NPC you need to be in human form plus the area boss still needs to be alive
Trigger this Black Phantom invader by going out to the right from the swamp bonfire toward the water wheel in Blighttown She can drop Humanity souls and the Butcher Knife weapon
Moonlight Butterfly BOSS
The Moonlight Butterfly is a boss that does no physical damage whatsoever so stack up on magic defense Crest Shield is one good item This boss for most of the fight is airborne so melee characters wont get a good chance to attack it until a little later on in the fight Its attacks can be simple to dodge once you get used to them one helpful tip is to wear heavier armor so you roll on the ground longer
There are only a handful of attacks that the Moonlight Butterfly does It will fire off some slow moving projectiles that home in on you simply roll when it gets close It will also fire some fast moving needlelike projectiles just keep moving with your shield up if you have a shield with good magic defense to hopefully dodge this attack It will also fire a beam that goes from one end of the walkway to the other side it doesnt go from one extreme end to the other so a welltimed roll should be enough Sometimes when it switches from one side of the bridge to the other it will release a bomblike attack on the bridge so hopefully its not close to you when it drops the attack
Once it does some attacks from the air it will eventually land on the bridge This is your chance to just go wild with your attacks as it wont attack you at all while its on the bridge Once you see the boss start glowing thats your cue to stop attacking and get out of the way as the boss will do a little pulse attack and then take to the air again It should take probably 2 rounds before you take this boss down
Moonlight Sword
To get the Moonlight Sword you will need to cut off the tail of Seath the Scaleless This is the tail thats directly opposite of the front of its body It might be hard to get behind Seath but the best chance is during its breath attack that makes spikes come out of the floor then quickly get behind it and get an attack off on its tail Dont forget to pick up the weapon once you cut off its tail
New Game
Beat the game and youll be able to start a New Game Enemies get stronger attack defense and HP increases with each NG you start with the limit reached when you get to the 7th NG any NG after that will not increase the enemies strengths The hardest transition is probably from your first playthrough to the first NG as enemies stats increase around 2 times
Painted World of Ariamis
To access this secret area you will need to return to the Undead Asylum and make your way to where you first started the game your cell In this cell will be an item called Strange Doll which is the key needed to access Ariamis Make your way to Anor Londo and find the enormous painting on the ground floor of the cathedral With the Strange Doll in your inventory youll get sucked into the painting Note that you cant leave until you finish the area
Paladin Leeroy Invader
NOTE To be invaded by this NPC you need to be in human form plus the area boss still needs to be alive
This NPC Black Phantom is just past the final bonfire in Tomb of the Giants He comes from a deadend path when the path to continue is on the right This is a welllit ledge so you should recognize it Paladin Leeroy can drop Grant a large hammer and Sanctus which is a HPregen shield
Path of the Dragon Covenant
All you have to do to join this Covenant is talk to the Everlasting Dragon NPC at Ash Lake who is located at the end of Ash Lake near a bonfire
Pinwheel BOSS
Pinwheel is an important boss because once you kill it you will be able to increase your Estus Flasks to 20 any bonfire only for that bonfire though Pinwheel only has one means of attacking which is shooting magic projectiles at the player What makes Pinwheel an annoying boss however is the fact that it makes clones and teleports all over the arena This makes keeping a tab on the real Pinwheel a tedious problem at times but the clones should disappear after 12 hits
NOTE You can summon Paladin Leeroy if youre in human form His sign is on the same ledge where you find the Cleric set of armor
Princess Guard Covenant
You need to defeat Ornstein and Smough first then you should see a huge door just ahead of the bonfire after the fight Open it to find the Queen of Sunlight Gwynevere who will let you join the Covenant upon talking to her
Returning to Undead Asylum
After you get to Firelink Shrine you are able to return to Undead Asylum tutorial area once you unlock the elevator Ride the elevator up and once you get to the very FIRST clearing get off and go right around the corner You should see a large hill and a pillar with an opening you want to roll off the ledge youre on onto the pillar and go through the opening Carefully make your way up the stairs and you should notice a nest Walk into the nest and curl into a ball when prompted and after around a minute or so youll get a cutscene of the crow bringing you back to the Undead Asylum
Rite of Kindling
Normally when you kindle a bonfire it will only allow you to hold up to 10 Estus Flasks There is a way to get the ability to hold 20 Estus Flasks though which requires the key item call Rite of Kindling You get this item after killing Pinwheel in the Catacombs and its a passive item so you dont need to use it When kindling a bonfire with the item in your inventory it will allow you to go up to 20 Estus Flasks increases by 5 each time you kindle
Seath the Scaleless BOSS
The first time you meet Seath in Dukes Archives you are forced to lose It isnt until you get to the Crystal Cavern that you can fight and kill Seath It is strongly advised to have some curse resistant equipment with you Cursebite Ring should be sufficient as one of Seaths attacks can curse you It also might be better to not equip heavy armor as you will need the mobility Before you even begin to do damage to Seath you will need to destroy the glowing crystal shard thing behind him if you dont then Seath will regenerate any health that is lost you need to do this every time you die
Seath doesnt have many attacks but he does have some nasty ones The main one you should be watching for is his breath attack which spawns crystals on the ground and if you come into contact with them you will take damage and your curse meter will rise you cant block the breath attack It has two variants of this attack either spawning at the players point or from left to right in front of Seath Seath can also lash its small tails around as well as his big tail which isnt visible from the front so you have to be careful when youre behind him He can also use his left arm to swipe in front of him as well as use an explosion in his close vicinity
You will want to try and keep Seath in the center of the room so you wont get trapped which might happen with his tails There is a blind spot on Seaths left tail so that will be where you want to attack from to damage him Dont get too close as hell use his tail to hit you and he might spread crystals all around him Note that you need to hit the tip of the large tail the one directly behind him in order to cut it off

To get to the Stray Demon you will need to return to the Undead Asylum When you get to the area where you fought the Asylum Demon the floor will break away and youll drop down to the area with the Stray Demon and youll lose some health if you dont have Fall Control
This boss is quite similar to the Asylum Demon except it has a lot of health and one attack that stands out from the rest It will slam its axe into the ground causing a large explosion in front of him as well as small area behind him You should be able to get 2 good hits on him 3 if using a quicker weapon after this attack and then you should retreat after Your best bet is to stay behind the Stray Demon and dont be too far away from him Just remember to not be too greedy with your hits and always keep your health high because if you get hit by his shockwave it will hurt
Warrior of Sunlight Covenant

Xanthous King Jeremiah Invader
NOTE To be invaded by this NPC you need to be in human form plus the area boss still needs to be alive
This NPC is located in the Painted World of Ariamis There is a courtyardtype area with a bunch of Phalanx enemies which look like blobs with a shield and spear youll know youre in the right area because theyre all surrounding a statue Be careful with this Black Phantom because his whip can bypass shields He can drop Humanity souls and his whip when defeated
