This is pretty sweet news! I would love a bit more story expansion from Infinite.
Ken Levine, the key figure behind the original BioShock and the recently-released BioShock Infinite has already starting writing his next game, he revealed on Twitter. He also cited his inspiration for the new game Good news then for fans of the BioShock...

In Bioshock Infinite you play as Booker DeWitt, a War Veteran with gambling debts. You have to go to the city of Columbia to rescue Elizabeth and wipe away his debts. Story: The Story is really interesting and with many plot twist. You have to play...

I feel that in five years when Ken Levine's next game is comes out, people will do the same thing they are doing now. They won't compare it to other games of the genre or even other games in other genres. They will compare it only to his previous games and great works of Art like Atlas Shrugged. Just like right now. We don't compare Bioshock Infinite to CoD, Battlefield, Halo, Borderlands, Far Cry, Crysis... None of these things. We could but we don't. The only thing worthy of comparison is the original Bioshock. In fact, I'm not sure I've even heard anybody compare this to Half-Life and I think that's quite telling.
We might say thinks like "disappointing" or "a let down" but when there's only one game that you can compare it to, that's putting it at the very top. In fact, I would dare say that it would be difficult to compare the experience of Bioshock Infinite with any movie or book that isn't considered a true work of Art.
What was the last movie that made you think like this did? What movie made you ask so many questions? -
Agreed. It was disappointing. The original BioShock is much better. -
I don't know I thought it was pretty good. Pretty much the whole game up until the end was a bit above average (I much prefer Rapture to Columbia). But the ending was quite brilliant; slightly confusing at first but brilliant nonetheless. Did it have plot holes and unanswered questions? Definitely. But I try not to get too upset about that type of stuff because I have yet to see a game, movie, or TV show that doesn't have at least a few plot holes or unanswered questions (it's really difficult to make a perfect universe).
Needless to say, Bioshock Infinite lived up to my standards.
I hope the next Bioshock will take place on the moon or in outer space. -

*some minor spoilers here, though nothing plot related* I absolutely love the first BioShock - it's probably my second favourite game of this generation - but Infinite... well, it's dull. Almost everything is worse compared to BioShock, from the inferior...

Meh, didn't really like it either. They just wanted everything for this game: time travel, art, music, futurism, communism, religion, history, story, shooter, rpg, scenery, ... but then didn't deliver or excel at any of them. The storytelling was outrageously bad and then just threw everything at you right at the end. Regretfully only mediocre imho. -
What difficulty do you play on? -
Probably you're not liking it because you haven't finished, but be sure that when you hit the finale, you're gonna love this masterpiece
