Formerly the homeworld of the Quarians, Rannoch was captured by the Geth after they rebelled, forcing the Quarians into exile, and is now populated by hundreds of millions or even billions of Geth. Rannoch is located in the Perseus Veil.
Shepard travels to Rannoch when he is attempting to recruit the Quarians to his cause. They are attempting to reclaim their planet and here, Shepard decides their fate, and the fate of the Geth.
