The Sun On Yee is a Triad organization operating in Hong Kong, and is the primary target of the Hong Kong Police Department. As an undercover cop, Wei has been ordered to infiltrate the gang in order for the H.K.P.D. to take them down. The name is a reference to the Sun Yee On, one of the leading Triad organizations in real-life Hong Kong.
There are five Red Poles inside the Sun On Yee - Winston Chu, Sam Lin (or "Dogeyes"), Two Chin Tsao, Broken Nose Jiang, and Big Smile Lee. Uncle Po, the uncle of Two Chin, is an elderly but formidable man, and acts as the Dragon Head.
Two factions operate in the Sun On Yee - the Water Street Gang and the Jade Gang. The two are explained in more detail in the links below.
The Sun On Yee keeps the traditional ways of the Triad, and accept Wei into the fold when he manages to prove his worth. The face of the Sun On Yee will change over the course of the story.
