Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is an RPG developed by both Level-5 and Studio Ghibli, for PlayStation 3. It was released in Japan on November 27, 2011, with a release in North America on January 22, 2013 and in Europe on January 25, 2013.
The game follows the story of Oliver, a young boy from the town of Motorville, who one day tragically loses his mother. While grieving, his tears bring to life a doll given to him by his mother, who introduces himself as a fairy named Drippy. With the slight hope that he can revive his mother, Oliver journeys to another world filled with magic and wonderous creatures, called Ni no Kuni.

Gameplay
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a Japanese role-playing game, with many different game mechanics than your typical game of that genre. Check the links below for more information concerning these mechanics.
Creatures and Familiars
Your journey as a wizard will inevitably bring you into contact with all manner of magical creatures. While most will present an obstacle to your progress, others may yet become your familiars--stalwart companions that will accompany you on your travels, and aid you in battle.
Abilities
You and your party will have a variety of spells and abilities to use during the course of the game. In addition to those used in battle, there are also those that can be used outside of battle (Everyday Spells).
Sidequests
There are a plethora of different sidequests available to the player as they journey through the world of Ni no Kuni. There are general sidequests in Errands, special monsters to hunt in Bounty Hunts, gaining new spells with Horace's Riddles, participating in fight tournaments at the Temple of Trials, and even gamble some at the Tombstone Casino.
Alchemy
After defeating Al-Khemi at Castaway Cove, you will gain access to a cauldron that allows you to create items via alchemy. You have two different ways of creating items, either by following a recipe or by experimenting with mixing and matching. To get recipes, you either have to talk to a NPC or get one by doing sidequests. Even if you successfully make an item via Mix & Match, you don't get the recipe for it. Note that the in-game Wizard's Companion has a majority of the recipes listed.
Equipment
There are many different pieces of equipment that can be found and used in the game. The thing is that every character and familiar can only equip certain pieces of equipment, and not every character/familiar will be able to use armor.
