The Broadsword is a fight style space and atmosphere vehicle. While a very capable vehicle, it is too small to be fitted for Slipspace, requiring it to either dock with a larger ship or to be in very close proximity to one so that it can be enveloped in the larger ship's shields.
This vehicle only appears in the campaign on the mission Midnight. During this mission, you must pilot the Broadsword through a long corridor style section of a ship. The ship is capable of increasing or decreasing spead but it can't stop entirely. It carries buth a rapid fire turret and rockets which can be swapped by hitting the Y button. During this section, you will have to destroy certain energy fields to clear a space for your ship.
Towards the middle of the mission, you'll have a section where you have full control of the Broadsword and must destroy several turrets by destroying the energy sources under them. Because it is possible to control the ship in true flight, it is possible that the vehicle could appear in multiplayer as a counterpart to the banshee. However, it is highly unlikely as in the past, most campaign only vehicles rarely are moved to the multiplayer.
