Not much is known about the Forerunner weapons. In fact, we've only really seen two up to this point. What we do know is that they seem to have unusual functions that make them useful rather than being outright more powerful than the weapons of the other two groups (as would be expected since they should be more technologically advanced). They seem to resemble and function similarly to Human Weapons while also having some of the more unusual functions of Covenant technology.
