Because the Designated Marksman Rifle is a relatively new weapon to the Halo franchise that saw drastic changes recently, it is hard to place where exactly it will fall in terms of mid range accuracy.
Originally, the weapon had a "bloom" effect where the reticle would expand from its "optimum accuracy" to a larger effective accuracy based on the speed with which you were shooting. This was later removed however. Because the Battle Rifle is being reintroduced, it is possible that reticle bloom will make a return for the DMR. It is also equally possible that it will not and that it will simply fire slightly slower and be more accurate, particularly at longer ranges, than the Battle Rifle.
