The Drone is the basic ground unit of the Locust Horde. Both the terms Drone and Grub can be used to refer to either this most basic unit or to refer to the range of Locust of similar build and structure including Grenadiers, Cyclops, and Beast Riders though generally not the more elite Theron.
In this case, the Drone tends to sport the most basic equipment such as the Hammerburst and uses the most basic tactics or strategies if any is used at all. More likely, Drones tend to push aggressively towards their targets without flanking. While they may seem pretty unintelligent, they are capable of making basic use of cover and can be quite dangerous in large numbers or supported by more advanced enemy troops.
