The Theron are the most elite of the Grub type enemies though their intelligence and proficiency tends to elevate them well beyond that of a mere "Grub". Theron actually have their own caste system with various ornate armors but their functions tend to remain the same. Theron wear a generally red armor that takes the shape of a bulky robe along with a helmet that covers almost their entire head.
They are at least as skilled with a Lancer Mk2 as a Cyclops, making them extremely proficient marksmen but they are also free to use almost any weapon available to the Locust Horde though they tend to opt for the devestating Torque Bow. Unlike the One-Shot, there's no beam to indicate the trajectory of an incoming Torque Bow bolt so you'll have to listen for the sound of the weapon and look for the tell-tale glow of the weapon. This weapon makes Theron a high value target for averting damage and acquiring the weapon for yourself.
Be sure to watch for Theron on Reavers. They tend to sit in the "gunner seat" behind the Beast Rider and will shoot at you with a Torque Bow from there. They can also appear as a sort of Shock Trooper weilding a giant Cleaver instead of normal weaponry.
