The Streets
Go down the road in front of you and then turn right. Follow the street until Paduk points out that there are Grubs ahead. Instead of following the road, go directly ahead and around the back of the building. This will bring you up on a flanking position against these Savage Drones. Remember that you aren't playing for score any more so you don't need to be gung-ho… unless you want to.
Return to the street and follow it down to the fort position below. You'll have more Drones and Diggers to deal with here. Remember that the Diggers can shoot under your cover so try to keep an eye on them for cues that they are shooting so you can dodge. Take them out and maybe even grab their Digger Launchers to take with you.
Go through the gate and then after the cutscene, make a mad dash for the service station at the base of the cliff. Inside, find the bodies and then the generator next to them. Activate that before activating the switch next to the car you want to move. Go under the car, collect the ammo, and then go through the back door.
Leave the service station through the back door and start making your way down the foggy roads. Unfortunately, there will be Tickers coming up the street ahead of you. Feel free to kick them away from you before shooting them to save yourself some trouble. If you get downed, be sure to get away from the tickers quickly so you don't die. When you get to the end of the Tickers, you'll come to a closed gate. The Switch to open the gate is in the building to the left of it.
Pass the gate but be ready for an ambush. Enter a little ways and you'll see a pickup truck. Get in the bed of the truck and pick up the Longshot. There will be some Sniper Grubs across the area trying to snipe back at you so try to take them out first. Shortly after, various Grubs will make a ground assault coming directly at you. Check to the left and you'll find a slightly raised area that you can get to for some cover. Fight off the enemies from here and then get ready for round two.
There will be a building across the street that explodes. Diggers and Ragers will come out of the building and start coming towards you. Try to snipe the Ragers before getting the Mulcher to your left for the Diggers. Clear out the front door and then enter the building. Pass through the building, dealing with the Grubs inside and then exit the back. You'll find a mall below so make your way down to it.
The Mall
Enter the Mall and then take the door to the right. This will lead you to an outdoor area of the mall. You'll find enemies scattered around the area with a variety of weapons. There will also be a Retro Lancer Turret at the top of the stairs. Take cover and start working on the Grubs as they come down the stairs.
Climb up the stairs and start working around the outside to clear the remaining Grubs. When you finish the remaining Grubs, head back to the turret because more Grubs will come up the stairs at you. With the turret, you should be able to smoke them pretty quickly. Kill them and after a moment, a mortar will hit and clear up the path to the left.
Cross to the next area and you'll see Grubs with mortars and Longshots below. If you still have your Longshot, you should be able to use it against the enemies below you to get rid of the Mortars at the very least. With them out of the way, descending the open stairs should be a lot safer. Get down the stairs and at the bottom, get ready for some heavier resistance. Boomers and One-Shots will accompany Grubs down here so watch for the tracers and listen for the sounds of Boomers. Work your way up one side of the fountain to the back of the area where the One-Shot is.
With the One-Shot in tow, get rid of any remaining Boomers. From here on, it's just a matter of cleaning up the remaining grubs. Head back to the large set of stairs and just to the right of the base of the stairs, you'll find the [COG Tags] for this section. After Carmine makes a stupid comment, you'll be attacked by a group of three Diggers and five Grubs. If you catch them early then a well-placed grenade can get rid of most of them.
Now that it's safe, follow Paduk to the next building and to the end of the chapter.
