The Rager is sort of a Berserker Lite. In their initial stages, they are rather thin and unimpressive. In fact, they are so thin that this is probably the first thing you'll notice about them to distinguish between them and other enemies. They will run around and carry a modified Markza called a Breechshot. This weapon fires more slowly and doesn't have the same range but it packs a lot of punch.
The trouble with these enemies is in killing them. If you don't kill them with some kind of instant kill such as a chainsaw kill or headshot, they will rage and become very aggressive. When they do, they are very similar to Berserkers in a lot of ways. They aren't quite as fast but they aren't blind so they are far more precise. They also are capable of taking you down with a single hit but they can easily be damaged. You can once again hit them with a head shot to kill them instantly or simply pour ammo into their body to take them down.
In a lot of cases, this is good reason to carry either a Markza or Lancer Mk2 so that you can get a head shot or chainsaw them.
