The Savage Boomer only appears in the Aftermath campaign section and only a few times. The Savage Boomer is very similar to the classic Boomer except that he's tougher and carries a much different weapon, the Digger Launcher. Since this weapon can burrow under ground and pop out behind your cover, this can make the Savage Boomer a very dangerous enemy.
When facing a Savage Boomer, you need to either eliminate him or his allies quickly so that you can either stay behind cover or move around respectively. Because of his lumbering size and slow speed, sometimes it is advisable to lead smaller enemies away from the Savage Boomer so you can deal with them without him nearby.
