Follow your squad to the right before it turns left. You'll come to a room that is largely on fire. Go up the short set of stairs and immediately turn left to find [COG Tags] in the corner. On the right wall will be the Glowing Omen.

| "Private Cole claimed to have defended Onyx Point beach against One-Shot wielding Locust." Locust use One-Shot. |
| The enemy Locust will make use of the One-Shot. This can make the long range combat a little bit tougher but there is also a sniper nest for you to use to combat this. If you are careful, this shouldn't make things too much more difficult. |
Immediately after you get outside, you'll find a Boomshot behind the first piece of cover to the left. Grab that and then set up the two Gnasher turrets to the left. These can go pretty much wherever you like but they are particularly useful at the top of the stairs leading to the nest above (If you use that section). Lastly, there's a Tripwire Crossbow nearby which can be used to booby-trap the blocks on the beach. Try to use it just on the blocks and not on the rocks which can cause the beam to go up at odd angles.
When the first ship appears, it will come up to the beach and park before releasing Ink Grenades to cloud your vision and dropping the door open. When you see the top of the door open, aim for the door with your Boomshot and hit it with a single shot. This can clear out a large amount of enemies. Try to conserve your Boomshot and Frag supplies for large groups like this.
More than likely this first wave will contain Wretches, Grubs, Boomers and possibly a Kantus or two. After the first shot, see what's left and start shooting at them with your other weapon. There is a COG ammo box that spawns on the lower level (the level you originally started off with). This will refill most COG weapons (Lancer and Longshot) but not the Boomshot. You should be able to get rid of most of this first wave before it gets close enough to really do damage.
The second wave should appear shortly after so restock your ammo and get ready. Two ships with a similar possible compliment will appear. These however will lean much more in the direction of Boomers so be careful of Boomshots, Mauler Shields, and the suppressive effect of Grinders. Both ships will go through the same motions of land, ink, release. Aim for the right boat first and then the left. Let off one Boomshot each to ease the round. Try to leave Maulers for last because they will get easier when they get closer. At a distance, it's almost impossible to get around their shields but once they get to straight sections, they will be easy to get around.
Along with this second wave will likely be the first Mortars and One-Shots so be careful of those and try to fight from indoors if you can. If you don't have a long range weapon (which there should be a Longshot in the nest above), use a Grenade instead to get over their cover.
After this second wave, restock on ammo and repair your defenses. If you have the chance Grab more Boomshot ammo and maybe a Mulcher. Two more boats will appear which will include everything from Tickers to Boomers to Bloodmounts. Hit them with a Boomshot each if you can and then unload on the doors with the Mulcher. This wave will also have a lot of One-Shots so be careful to keep your head low.
As things start to get thick, you'll definitely want to move yourself to the upper levels. From here, you can more accurately use any explosives you have on the large enemies below. It will also provide you protection from Mortars and slightly better protection from the One-Shots. If you haven't used it yet, there's a Longshot here that you can use to take out those One-Shots and make your life easier. As you're fighting, be sure to listen for Kantus and deal with them as soon as they crop up.
Once you get through the Boomers and the One-Shots, things should become a little more tame but don't let your guard down because there are still plenty of remaining enemies that can kill you if you don't keep your head on. When the fight has finally finished, you'll talk about taking a boat back. Head down the beach and you can finish the chapter near one of the boats.
