The Ink Grenade makes a return from the previous games and remains largely unchanged. Like before, it is useful for traps and as a means of attack. Also like before, the weapon is generally more useful as a deterrent so that you can cause your opponent to move in a different direction than it is as a direct attack. These are still generally gotten from the Kantus in campaign mode. Just be smart about using them and don't ink yourself.
