The Boomer is the basic form of the Boomer Class. While the Boomer class generally encompasses all large Locust of this particular size and form, the Boomer is specifically a tall, large locust that carries a Boomshot. Generally speaking, Boomers are slow moving and easy to hit. The Boomshot that they carry can be devestating but the slow reload speed makes them fairly easy to dodge. While their lack of speed may make them seem like easier targets up close, they still have very powerful melee attacks.
Unfortunately, the best way to deal with a Boomer is to attack it from range. The problem with this method is that Boomers are very tough and can take a lot of damage. On harder difficulties, its possible to go through an entire clip (or more if you can't hit their head).
