The Digger Launcher is a unique weapon in a lot of ways. Instead of firing a normal bullet or explosive round, it fires a Digger which can tunnel under the ground and then pop out next to an enemy.
While this seems like a fairly simple weapon, when you consider its possible uses, it starts to become a very complex weapon in the right hands. For instance, since the digger goes under ground and continues on until it ends up under an enemy, it has a certain amount of fire and forget to it. It is very possible for a single person to shoot, run, turn and shoot repeatedly to defeat a group of pursuers.
Unfortunately, since the projectile is going to travel through the ground to get to its destination, it travels far more slowly than most weapons and can be easy to dodge if you know its coming. For this reason, the Digger Launcher is best used from a flanking position where the enemy won't be able to see it coming or at a short distance where the enemy won't have to to react. Its distinctive sound, however, is somewhat dangerous in its own right and can cause inexperienced players to scatter to avoid dying.
