| Please note that this section is only an in-depth item and skill build guide and gameplay strategy for Fiora. Readers should have an understanding of Fiora's skills before continuing and readers looking for a basic overview, including lore, skills, skins, and stats should refer to here. Also please take into consideration that champions can be played in any fashion and any build. The item build outlined below is just a guide to build Fiora in an efficient manner. |
Overview
![]() | Fiora is primarily played in the top lane, although can also be played as a jungler. She is an exceptionaly strong duelist, who has high burst, sustain, and area of effect damage. She is a strong bruiser, fighter, or assassin throughout the majority of the game and can easily become a hyper carry, leading a game to victory or applying tremendous pressure on towers. |

Skill Order
Fiora's damage primarily comes from her auto attacks. Skills should be maxed in the order of Blade Waltz (R), Lunge (Q), Riposte (W), then Burst of Speed (E). This generally allows Fiora to deal the maximum damage per second, however, certain skills may be maxed first, depending on the matchup explained later below. Be sure to put a point into W first however, as it is a free long sword and can be extremely helpful for level 1 fights.

| Blade Waltz (R) | Makes you untargetable for a short period of time and applies on hit - effects. This means lifesteal, but most importantly, a Ravenous Hydra, as it allows for massive AoE damage. As with all ultimates, put a skill point whenver possible. |
| Lunge (Q) | Lunge (Q) is your primary means of gap closing. It applies a stack of duelist and can be used in rapid succession. It should be maxed first as it can be used immediately after an auto-attack for some extra damage. It also helps greatly in last hitting, chasing, and trading damage. |
| Riposte (W) | Riposte (W) should be maxed second unless you are agaisnt certain champions that have an auto-attack proc or a skill that counts as an auto-attack, such as Gangplank, Wukong, Rengar, or Nasus. It helps prevent a majority of their damage. Correct use of this skill in normal match up can help prevent some damage. It is maxed by level 13, as it negates and reflects one auto-attack, which can be crucial when fighting ADC's. |
| Burst of Speed (E) | Although this skill is amazing for destroying turrets and other objectives, it lasts for only 3 seconds and enemies will most likely lock you down during those moments. Only max this first if you are laning against a tank top who lacks damage as it works wonders with BoRK. |
Runes, Masteries, Skills
Before we get into items, runes and masteries are important. They greatly impact the early game before items play a role.
Runes

| Mark of Armor Penetration | Helps deal more damage by ignoring flat armor early and late game. |
| Glyph of Scaling Magic Resistances | In general, most champions have a low Magic Resist per Level. This helps you scale better in to the late game as from these runes, you have +54 MR at level 18. |
| Seal of Armor | In total, they give you +9 Armor, which greatly increase your early game bulkiness. This along with the fact that a majority of top laners are AD bruisers make them optimal.Read more at |
| Quintessence of Attack Damage | Helps early game trading and last hitting. |
Masteries

Fiora should run a standard 21/9/0 set.
Offensive Masteries
| Fury (3/4) | Fiora is an auto attack based champion, so these help get them off more frequently. |
| Double Edged Sword (1/1) | Helps deal more damage. |
| Brute Force (3/3) | The extra AD per level helps scaling. |
| Wardlord (3/3) | 5% AD can make a large difference late game, and it also applies with the bonus AD from Riposte. |
| Martial Mastery (1/1) | 4 AD can help last hitting and trading. |
| Devastating Strikes (3/3) | Helps deal more damage to tankier foes. |
| Havoc (1/1) | The 3% increase damage can help trading and last hiting. |
| Butcher (1/1) | Helps last hitting. |
| Feast (1/1) | Adds extra sustain. |
| Executioner (3/3) | 5% more damage can make an impact. |
| Dangerous Game (1/1) | Can help you survive ticking ignites or other DoT spells after killing an enemy. |
Defensive Tree
| Block (2/2) | Helps reduce early game damage. |
| Unyielding (1/1) | Helps reduce early game damage. |
| Recovery (2/2) | Adds sustain. |
| Veteran Scars (3/3) | Makes for a more bulky early game |
| Juggernaut (1/1) | Helps for a early and late game bulkiness. |
Summoner Spells
![]() | Flash can be used in many situations, whether offensively or defensively. It should be always be run on Fiora as she lacks a decent form of escape. |
![]() | With Fiora's already incredible trading potential, ignite just helps get off that extra damage faster. |
![]() | Fiora is a top laner and can be played as a split pusher. By running teleport, it allows you to aid other lanes durring the laning phase, as well as split push and still be able to join your team for fights. |
![]() | Smite should only be taken on Jungle Fiora. |
Item Builds

Starting Items
Fiora should start off with a Dorans Blade and a Yellow Trinket, this allows for a safe early game. The Dorans Blade allow for bulkiness, sustain, and damage. They are a great early item for Fiora. A Yellow Trinket allows for a ward that can be used to spot ganks and the health pot just allows for that extra healing.
Core Build
As Fiora, you want to focus on damage. She is naturally squishy and building defensively does not suit her. A Blood Thirster in combination with a Ravenous Hydra allows for plenty of defensive capabilties through your ultimate and auto attacks.
You want to rush a Tiamat as Fiora. Although this may seem like a bad first buy as it forces you to push your lane, a Tiamat along with your ultimate and a properly time Burst of Speed can allow Fiora to have an extremely strong 2 v 1.
Following the Tiamat, you want to build a Youmu's Ghost Blade before finishing a Ravenous Hydra. A Ghost Blade is an incredibly strong early game item, as it allows for increased trading potential and objective pressure.
Last Whisper and Blood Thirster should be built next depending on the situation. If they are begining to stack up more armor than your Youmu's can deal with, pick up a Last Whisper. In other scenarios, it is better to pick up a Blood Thirster. Guardian Angel should always be your Final Item.
Situational Offensive
If you are facing a kiting opponent, such as Teemo or Gnar, and in addition to helping you stick to targets better, as after Fiora burns her Q's, she lacks chasing potential, pick up a Frozen Mallet.
A Blade of the Ruined King should be picked up when facing tank tops, as it helps tremendously. In combination to your E, it allows you to shred or deal with tanks relatively easily.
Situational Defensive
As mentioned previously, Fiora does not gain much benefit of defensive items. The only one in addition to Guardian Angel worth picking up would be a Banshees Veil. It should be used agaisnt heavy poke compositions and hard engaging team.
Also, feel free to swap out Berserker Greaves for more appropriate boots if the situation demands, such as Mercury Treads or Ninja Tabi.
General Gameplay
Laning Phase
Drop your Yellow Trinket at 2:30 in the river bush.
Fiora is an exceptional strong duelist, hence her title. Don't be afraid to trade, as your passive allows you to heal some of it back. Trade frequently agaisnt champions with weaker dueling potenial and less sustain while being sure to last hit. If they are low enough - Q on to them, time your W to block one auto-attack, and either activate E or save it for after they crowd control you.
If they start fleeing, use the second proc of your Q, if not, use it before it times out for some extra damage and a stack of duelist. If you are level 6, use your ultimate appropriately to stick onto them or to avoid a skill. Aim for a Pickaxe or Vampiric Sceptre with Boots on your first back.
Recognizing the Dangers
Play aggressive or safely depending on your position and ward coverage.

Being Ganked
Fiora lacks a built in escape, so if you notice the enemy jungler approaching, try and get 3 auto-attacks off with Burst of Speed Active to gain its movement speed bonus. Also, look for possible minions to Q to, or if needed, Q to the enemy jungler coming from behind and attempt to escape.
If you recognize that they have the potential to kill you if they cc lock you, Flash away.
Also recognize the potential that Fiora has to 2 v 1. If they are both squishy champions, and you have atl east a Tiamat, you may be able to wreck both of them with a well used ultimate and positioning. In addition, watch the map for the position of your jungler.
Receiving Ganks
Either wait for your jungler to engage or do it yourself with Q. It has to procs so if they have a means of escape, you still have the potential to follow. Note that Fiora lacks any CC and that if your Jungler does not have any either, it might be difficult to obtain a kill against a champion with a built in escape.
Team Fighting or Split Pushing
Split Pushing
Fiora can easily be a split pusher once a Tiamat is obtained. In addition, her E and Youmus can be used to quickly destroy turrets. When split pushing, always be aware of the enemy team location and recognize your potential to take them if they try and stop you. If you are running teleport, split pushing is generally better, as it allows you to still aid your team if the enemy tries to force a 4 v 5.
Team Fighting
In team fights, Fiora plays the front line role, attacking the enemy teams carries. If unopposed, Fiora can burst their carries relatively quickly. Be sure to time your Burst of Speed, Riposte, and Blade Waltz properly.
- Burst of Speed should be used after the CC has been burned
- Riposte should be used when being auto-attack by a ADC
- Blade Waltz should be used either to avoid damage, heal, stick on targets, or deal massive AoE damage to a heavily clumped team.
Jungle Fiora
Although not very strong early game, Fiora can be played in the Jungle. She is a Feral Flare type jungler and should focus on farming and scaling to the late game. This is due to the fact that she lacks any decent form of crowd control. When playing Jungle Fiora, time your Riposte properly to block large minion attacks, and watch your map incase you are needed to counter gank.
Jungle Fiora cannot apply strong early game pressure as she is a farming focused jungler. Be wary of this if you decide to play Fiora as a jungler.

This form of farming allows for a consistant spawn and allows the fastest way to obtain the Feral Flare.
