For the first time in the series animals are a major presence in the game. Grand Theft Auto V has what Rockstar are calling a fully functioning ecosystem, and this includes household pets and wildlife.
The animals known to be in the game are all listed below.
Bobcats make their debut in Grand Theft Auto V.
Cougars also make their debut in Grand Theft Auto V and can be hunted by the player.
Coyotes can also be hunted by the player and tend to be found in Blaine County.
Deer appear in Grand Theft Auto V and can be found in rural areas like Blaine County. They are passive creatures that can also be hunted by the player (as shown in the image above).
The most well known animal addition is man's best friend. Dogs were first spotted in the very first trailer for the game, where they were seen following a couple walking along the beech.
The screenshot on the right confirms the existence of fish in the game. In fact, the underwater areas of the game are also fully landscaped, so several different varieties of fish are included.
Another form of sealife, moray eels will show up when exploring the oceans. Unlike most sealife, moray eels will attack the player if disturbed.
Seagulls can be seen often flying around the beeches and shipping areas, which means they've made the transition over from Grand Theft Auto IV.
Sharks are in Grand Theft Auto V. They have made appearances in previous Grand Theft Auto games, but this is the first time that they will interact with the player character and attempt to kill him.
