The people of Overlook have been healed, they've constructed a shield and now it's time to test it. What could possibly go wrong by shooting a mortar round directly at the city?

After talking to Karima, she's going to send you to the nearby Hyperion Base and have you use their mortar to test their shield. The base is pretty heavily defended by every Loader up to the WAR Loaders (EXP, GUN, BUL, PWR) as well as Surveyors and Engineers. You can tackle this in one of two ways.
You can attack the base and fight your way through the countless enemies OR you could run by them and just use the mortar. The former method is probably a lot more consistent and safer. The latter will have you run by some very deadly enemies and then have to activate the mortar. From there, you will have to defend your position as you prepare the mortar to fire twice. This can be quite hectic (and quite fun!).
Either method is acceptable. When you get to the mortar, you're going to have to use the valve handles to manipulate the mortar and aim it. Then a button will open to the right. Hit this to fire. After the first shot hits it's mark successfully, you'll have to reaim and shoot again. Once you've done this, you can return to Karima. Of course, getting back out if you ran in will be quite the ordeal so it may be worth your time to fight in just so you can get out more easily.
When you return to Karima, she'll reward you and you'll have finished this mission chain!
