When you pick up the ECHO recording from the dead body next to Moxxi's, all you'll hear is "The Bane...Marcus," so head over to Marcus and speak to him. He'll mention the weapon is cursed and he sold it to someone named Horace, who you can find in The Dust.
Fast Travel to The Dust, which will place you at Ellie's place, with the waypoint to the north of it. You'll have to fight a few Skags, but it shouldn't be too much trouble, as Horace is not too far. When you get to Horace, pick up his ECHO recording to find out that McNally now has the weapon.
The next waypoint is still in The Dust, so get to it and you'll find out you have to fight McNally, who is modeled after a Psycho Bandit. His main move involves him running slightly away from you, then lunging at you and attacking with a melee strike. Once he's dead, pick up his recording to find out, yet again, that someone else has The Bane; this person is Gar, and he is from Lynchwood.
If you've never been there before, you can get there from the southwest portion of The Dust. When you arrive, you'll need to go through the tunnel nearby, when you get out of the train station, killing the Bandits that get in your way. When you get to an elevator, take it up and continue onwards to the waypoint to pick up Gar's ECHO recording, who says he had to get rid of the weapon.
Your last objective for this mission is to search in the cemetery. This is located in an area filled with Rat Bandits. In additional to normal ones, you'll also encounter some riding Armored Skags, which will take a while to take down. Once you get to The Grinders area, you'll see the cemetery waypoint, which will finally get you The Bane weapon. Turn in the quest at the grave for your rewards.
The Bane is a special weapon that gives off a special sound every time it is fired, but when you're using the weapon, it reduces your movements considerally. |
