Sanctuary is a town for people hiding from Handsome Jack, and is run by the Crimson Raiders, a rebel faction that plans to bring Jack down from power. Players first enter Sanctuary as part of "The Road to Sanctuary" mission in the story.
It remains a central hub for players, as they can take on plenty of optional missions, play slot machines, talk to a plethora of NPCs and even buy/sell weapons and equipment.
