Scooter, Do It!
After you installed the new Power Core into the shield generator, it appears that you've just been had. The power core wasn't an infinite energy source; instead it was a trojan that Jack used (via Angel), to sabotage Sanctuary's protective shields. Immediately after activation, Sanctuary loses its energy dome and is put under intense bombardment; explosions will begin wrecking the city. Despite the orchestrated pandemonium, you basically need to accomplish two things; first, go to the center of town and find Scooter. He'll be working on one of the pylons. After speaking to him, he'll direct you to cycle the other ignition primers by clicking on their buttons.
After doing so the next it to go into Roland's headquarters and up the stairs where you find Roland pinned under debris. Scattered around him are small chunks of Eridium that you must collect and bring to Lilith. There is also a small amount of cash; despite the hysteria mood, take your time and loot everything. Then go to Lilith, who is performing her mojo on some of the town's mechanism. With the infusion of Eridium that you're about to give her, she will then phase the entire city with its inhabitants away, escaping from Jack's bombardment. Unfortunately you will be left behind in the dust. The only thing left for you to do at this point, is to admire the view as Santuary rises into the atmosphere and vanishes!
The Cold Lonely Road
After Sanctuary disappears, you're standing alone on the other side of what used to be the access bridge. The bridge has fallen so you cannot even go back to see the hole left by where Sanctuary was (you will be able to do this later in the game, however). When you're done lamenting your fate, turn around and make your way to The Fridge, the entrance of which is nestled behind a bandit camp, up the side of a hill overlooking a lake behind the Happy Pig Motel.
This camp is small, really just a small two level enclosed compound with a few shacks that you can clear in a less than a minute. The safest way is to drive up to its gate and first rid the place of as many bandits as possible by staying within your vehicle and shooting them from outside. Almost all of the enemies will be Marauders or Nomads. Scavenge through the assorted camp loot boxes, ascend the stairs until you come across doors to the 'Fridge. When you activate the control panel to enter, a contrite sounding Angel will assist you by melting ice that had blocked the doors. As you finally open the portal and walk through the Travel Point, you'll complete this mission and start "Bright Lights, Flying City." Don't worry about selling loot yet, there'll be a vendor station just on the other side.
