Each of Skyrim's nine holds has a capital city, which can range in size from a small town like Morthal to the enormous Solitude.
Each city contains stores, inns, a home for the Dragonborn, and a palace for the Jarl of that Hold. Certain cities contain other significant points of interest, such as the College of Winterhold.
