Solitude is the capital and largest city of Skyrim. It is located in Haafingar, in the North-West of Skyrim. Solitude is Skyrim's most powerful Imperial stronghold, and the location of the Imperial Legion's headquarters. It is also the location of the Bards' College. The Blue Palace is the seat of the High King of Skyrim, but the throne remains empty throughout the game.
Jarl Elisif the Fair is the widow of High King Torygg, and the Imperial Legion supports her claim to the throne of Skyrim.
