Dragonborn is the third DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim set for release on December 4, 2012 for 1600 Microsoft Points. There is no word on PC or PS3 release though it is possibly a timed exclusive for the XBox 360 which is usually about a month. However, due to previous issues with delivering DLC to the PS3, it may not be possible to get this DLC on the PS3.
Not much is known about this DLC yet but some details have been gleened from the trailer and pulled from the most recent patch.
The Dragonborn DLC appears to take place on a separate island or part of Skyrim which you must sail to from the Skyrim mainland. This land is known as Soulstheim.- The antagonist of this DLC was once a Dragon Priest and was the first Dragonborn. He is trying to return to the world.
- Dragon appears to be similar to the Dawnguard DLC in scope but with a greater focus on story and questing than new mechanics.
- Several new items may appear including:
- Spears
- Bonemold armor
- Chitin armor
- Nordic armor
- Stalhrim armor
- You'll find new locations inhabitted by new NPCs. Alongside human inhabitants, there appear to be goblins as well as at least one new type of dragon.
- Several new locations will make an appearance in this land. These include:
- Castle Karstaag
- Raven Rock
- Telvanni Tower
- Miraak Temple
- Standing Stones
- The trailer clearly shows the much rumored Dragon mounts. The limits of these mounts are unknown but you will be able to ride dragons, even if only in Soulstheim.
