The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open-world action RPG developed by Bethesda Game Studios for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series, it takes place in the Nordic homeland of Skyrim, where a civil war rages and dragons have returned to terrorise the land.
As with the previous games, the player controls an unknown prisoner who was caught in an Imperial ambush while attempting to cross the border into Skyrim. Headed to Helgen to be executed, the player is about to be beheaded when a Dragon arrives and destroys the town. Revealed to be the latest "Dovahkiin", a Dragonborn, an individual with the body of a mortal and the soul of a Dragon, Skyrim's civil war is the last in a sequence of prophetic events foretold by the Elder Scrolls.

Races
Skyrim is the home province of the Nords, but with the collapse of the empire, it has received an influx of individuals from a number of different humanoid races, each hailing from a different province of the Empire.
Skills
Spells are used by the Mages of Skyrim for the purposes of altering the world, summoning creatures, damaging and impairing enemies, and healing the caster and his allies. They are split into five entirely independent schools.

Locations
Although Skyrim is one Kingdom, it is split into nine different Holds, each with a capital city which is the seat of the Jarl, or Lord, who rules that Hold. Each Hold is largely autonomous, but all must swear fealty to the High King.
Mods
Skyrim features a huge variety of mods. These mods can be downloaded from Steam Workshop or Skyrim Nexus or various other sources. Modifications include various different features such as improving the texture quality, adding new characters or skins, new locations, new magic spells and more.
Cheats
This trick requires that you own a house with an alchemy lab. Obtain the Oghma Infinium book, but do not read it. Go to your house, and open the bookshelf. Read the Oghma Infinium book, then select the skill set to assign the skill gain. Close the book, but not the bookshelf. Store the book on the shelf, then take the book back off the shelf, and select it, but do not read it. Repeat this as many times as desired to get as much skill level gain as desired.
