The Soul Cairn is a plane of Oblivion haunted by lost souls. It is ruled over by the Ideal Masters and guarded by the dragon Durnehviir. The only thing to grow in the Cairn are Soul Husks which can be used to ward off the health draining effects of the Ideal Masters.
The Soul Cairn was added as part of the Dawn Guard DLC and is visited as part of the main quest line for either of the two Factions, the Vampires or the Dawnguard.
